Ephemerata Home Page

Ephemerata.ca is a new home page for me, that, unlike other websites I manage, doesn't have a particular agenda. This site is for my friends to follow what I've been up to, and what's going on with me. (and yes, I do have more than two friends, I have three:)~. Btw, if you got here from www.coppin.ca or coppin.ca, you're still at the right place.

This page is a portal to other pages and they themselves are portals to further things that I'm doing, or have an interest to me. You can spend hours following the various paths that unfold.

Most of what I'm personally about or have been up to, hobbies, observations, and interests, will be duly noted in Blog Ephemerata (aka blog.coppin.ca), and with snippets on Twitter. If you are not familiar with the structure of blogs, please take note of the content of the sidebar as well as posted blog topics. The archive links will take you to blog posts from previous months. The category clouds will take you to topics indexed by subject. In addition, there may be discrete links to other sites of interest organized in the sidebar as well.

This page will also reference projects or special interest pages that are a part of Ephemerata but not a direct part of my personal blog, such as the highly evolved Ephemerata Weather Radar Project (which can also be reached with radar.coppin.ca) and its companion blog pages at EWRadar Blog, the weather alert blog subsystems at EWRWxAlert, and Twitter Twitter:EWRWxAlert, and other things that I will no doubt come up with from time to time (there are, in fact, webpages associated with my photography that are not currently online, while I decide how to revise them).

I'm a 60 something Canadian O/F who chases bad guys for a living. I run two political blogs (actually, now just one. The time had come for one of them to conclude), and a semi-pro artsy-fartsy one. Ephemerata is just me being me in real time for my friends.

There are some magnificent blogs out there, attracting hundreds of thousands of viewers, spotlighting the most pressing issues of the day, invigorating dialogue around the world. This isn't one of them :).

No, what this is, is just a place for me to tell my friends what I'm up to and how I've been wasting my time lately (yeah, both of them. I could call them, but I'm cheap and they're smart enough to live out of town and only check their email periodically. This way they can check up on me anonymously, and not have to admit who called the white coats).

Maybe do a little writing, post a little silliness, explore the quirkier part of my personality. Ok, so to the neighbours, "quirky" just means "weird". I get it! My day job is a tough one, full of pressure, angst, and sometimes, deeply personal tragedies. This blog is for finding some perspective and dwelling instead on discovering some of the highlights of life.
